news : We think some chicks fledged last night but this morning the nestbox is empty except for the spider's web that has obscured the view most of the time. Very active chicks this year. Good luck to them.

news : Yesterday afternoon, it looked as though hatching had started. The male bird was in frequent attendance and half an egg shell was seen being tossed out of the nest box. The male is in and out again today but the female hasn't allowed us a glimpse of either eggs or hatchlings.

news : The birds are beginning to bring in the 'soft furnishings'(feathers) to line the nest bowl.

news : The birds appear to working as a team with one bird outside the hole passing nest material to the bird inside. This is the first time i have observed this since the webcam was set up in 2004.

news : It has been a productive few days. The base of the nestbox is now covered and the nest bowl beginning to take shape. This year's bird is spending a lot of time in the box getting the nesting material just right.

news : The bird has been roosting in the box ever since we turned the camera on a few days ago.
It has brought int he first few pieces of nesting material today
